Join Apollo.io, a leading go-to-market solution trusted by millions, as a Staff Product Designer. You will play a key role in designing intuitive and effective experiences for AI-powered workflows, focusing on large language models (LLMs) and other AI-driven features. Working within a Squad structure alongside Product Managers and Engineers, you will collaborate on brainstorming, building, and validating solutions. Your responsibilities include designing user interfaces, collaborating with AI engineers and data scientists, defining user interaction models, and crafting scalable design patterns. You will also conduct user interviews and leverage quantitative and qualitative data for product decisions. This role requires extensive experience in web-based product design and a deep understanding of AI/LLM usability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and shipping complex web-based products founded in data and customer insights
- Experience designing for AI-driven products, including conversational interfaces, generative AI applications, or recommendation systems
- Deep understanding of AI/LLM usability challenges, including trust, explainability, and interaction models
- Strong ability to balance automation with user control, ensuring AI enhances rather than replaces human decision-making
- Expert design instincts & best practice knowledge to translate user problems, user goals, business objectives and technical constraints into excellent product experiences to deliver quick turnarounds & shorten feedback loops
- Experience creating and maintaining components across multiple product surfaces in Figma
- A passion for typography and copywriting and know how to write a simple, compelling microcopy to support your UI design
- Experimentation-oriented β Ability to conduct user interviews, analyze the results of interviews, form hypothesis, test hypothesis with users via prototypes or product experimentation, and iterate
- No big ego β ability to uphold excellent rhythms within Product Management, Engineering & Design squads because each member has respect for each other, and has a shared understanding of the goals, vision, and principles that Apollo operates on

Responsibilities
- Work with the Product Manager on your squad to help brainstorm, build & validate solutions to user problems & goals
- Design intuitive, explainable, and user-centered AI/LLM-powered experiences that seamlessly integrate into Apolloβs product ecosystem
- Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to understand model capabilities, limitations, and optimal UX patterns for AI-driven workflows
- Define user interaction models for AI-driven automations, recommendations, and conversational interfaces while ensuring transparency and user control
- Craft scalable design patterns for AI explanations, feedback loops, and confidence levels in results
- Collaborate with other Designers to provide feedback, share + learn best practices & maintain a cohesive experience in the product
- Interview users to validate designs & learn about user problems
- Use & build upon our design system to update portions of your surface
- Consistently integrate quantitative and qualitative data into essential product decisions
- Collaborate with your squad to identify the highest impact areas to work on, develop hypothesis, test, and iterate
