Staff Product Designer

Requirements

• 8+ years experience designing web & mobile applications
• Expertise in interaction and visual design
• Figma fluency (including prototyping)
• Portfolio showcasing your craft, ability to solve user problems, and quantified impact

Responsibilities

• Spearhead and deliver on high-impact, critical design projects that unlock significant customer and business value
• Work directly with customers to understand their needs and validate design solutions
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution
• Drive design roadmaps that make progress over multiple quarters on key company investments
• Articulate our product and design strategy in a way that builds excitement and motivates leadership
• Up-level the design team in skills, tools, and practice and instill good design sense in other disciplines
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

• Best-in-class product design abilities
• Ability to engage directly with customers to understand needs and validate design visions
• Excellent collaboration with cross-functional partners
• Track record of strategic influence & shipping impact for 0-1 products
• An adept communicator at various altitudes, from critical, granular details to long-term vision
