Summary

The job is for a Staff Software Engineer - Back End at Contentsquare's Engineering department, focusing on the development of next-generation products. The role involves technical leadership, engineering and development, mentorship, strategic contributions, incident management, and requires expertise in back-end development, cloud-native architectures, microservices architecture, performance optimization, automated testing, and continuous delivery.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience with a solid foundation in back-end development, building, maintaining and supporting high traffic web backends
• Proficiency in component-based architectures using Python, Go or Scala for the back-end and Postgres, S3 for the databases
• Deep knowledge and experience in cloud-native architectures, microservices architecture, performance optimization, automated testing, and continuous delivery are crucial
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and make critical decisions
• Excellent communication skills and accustomed to working cross-functionally in an agile, mid-sized development environment

Responsibilities

• Drive key technical initiatives and contribute to company objectives by taking ownership of major and complex topics within our product
• Lead the technical design and delivery of robust, reliable and performant back-end components and APIs using Python, Scala and/or Go, and push our microservices architecture forward
• Work closely with agile, cross-functional teams, including other engineers, product managers and designers, and DevOps. Provide focused support to different units, driving improvements across our entire application
• Mentor team members through pair programming, code reviews, and ad-hoc assistance
• Serve as a thought partner to engineering and product leadership
• Participate in tech circles and knowledge-sharing sessions to stay on top of and implement the latest industry practices
• Proactively identify and implement strategies to reduce incident impact and detection time, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our SaaS applications

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience using Node.js is a plus
