Staff Software Engineer - React/Ruby and Rails

Summary

Join Ubiminds, a GPTW-certified company, as a Staff Software Engineer and lead the development of a scalable data platform and member management solution for a public safety product suite. Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong proficiency in React and/or Ruby and Rails
• Proven experience designing and building APIs and large-scale data systems
• Passion for writing high-quality code and leveraging modern development practices
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative, distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs for complex products
• Develop and manage large-scale, reliable data pipelines
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code following best practices like TDD and code reviews
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and product roadmap planning
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Take ownership and help shape the technical and team culture

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mission-critical, highly available systems
• Background in agile product development environments
• Background in the health care industry, bringing relevant domain knowledge and insights
• Familiarity with AWS, leveraging cloud services to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability
