Staff Writer

Summary

Join Future, a leading specialist media company, as a Staff Writer for Live Science. You will create engaging science content for various platforms, including the website, social media, and video. Responsibilities include writing news and features, conducting interviews with experts, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to style guidelines. The role requires excellent writing skills, a strong science background, and experience in science writing. This remote position offers uncapped leave, profit-sharing bonuses, referral rewards, wellbeing support, and a share incentive plan. The salary range is £25,000-£27,000.

Requirements

• Excellent written English, and knowledge of writing for the web
• Great knowledge of science topics, an ability to research and learn, and previous experience writing about the subject matter
• An appropriate qualification or degree in sciences

Responsibilities

• Write news and features for Live Science's main website
• Upload articles to the CMS, finding appropriate images and related articles to link to
• Fact/source check all articles that you create, and ensure they fit Live Science's house style
• Work with our Social Media Editor on short video, social posting, and other off-site activity
• Interview and work with leading figures in science to make sure our features and news are informed by qualified experts, to provide trustworthy commentary on the biggest stories
