Requirements

  • 7+ years work experience in policy, public affairs, communications or state government engagement
  • Team player with a sense of humor and the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent personal, political, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for work, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support the Americas Government Affairs, Americas team to monitor relevant activity at the state level for Wing and engage where appropriate
  • In coordination with the Local Policy and Community Affairs team and the Federal Affairs team, engage with state government officials and keep them updated on Wing’s operations, or the possibility for Wing operations, in the areas they represent
  • Assist with development and implementation of a cross-functional strategy to engage with the state policymakers where we operate or may operate in the future
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications team to be aware of ongoing company planning and priorities and to help shape Wing’s narrative in state capitals nationally
  • Help coordinate/execute state policymaker engagement activities on the ground in public and private sector meetings
  • Liaise with state policy trade and affiliation associations, and nonprofits to collaborate and develop positive relationships with key partners and drive policy outcomes through trade coalition engagement
  • Work to connect with the states by organizing visits with universities, STEM and Robotics clubs, aviation clubs and other community stakeholders and leaders
