Summary

The job is for a Statistician to work on the USAID Nepal Learning for Development Activity, contributing to the sampling collection design, creating the Quantitative Data Analysis plan, leading data analysis, and assisting with problem-solving statistical design and analysis matters. The position requires a Master's degree or higher in probability and statistics or a related field, 7+ years’ experience in applied statistical analysis with a strong focus on impact evaluations in development contexts and analysis of education data.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in probability and statistics or a related field
• 7+ years’ experience in applied statistical analysis with a strong focus on impact evaluations in development contexts and analysis of education data
• Strong blended skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
• Excellent written English
• Experience working with USAID Activities
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Software and statistical analysis tools, such as Stata and R

Responsibilities

• Reviewing Impact Evaluation design, methodology, tools, and sample sizes
• Contributing to the sampling collection design for quantitative components
• Creating the Quantitative Data Analysis plan and contributing to design amendments
• Leading data analysis of Student Learning Assessment and KAP surveys
• Contributing to findings, conclusions, and recommendations in conjunction with other Baseline Impact Evaluation team members and drafting applicable report sections or inputs as applicable
• In concert with the team, presenting findings to stakeholders
• Assist with problem-solving statistical design and analysis matters when the need arises
• Performing other technical duties as appropriate and required
