As a Strategic Engagement Manager, you will cultivate and expand Duolingo's partnerships with universities across the European Union, promoting the Duolingo English Test as a leading alternative to traditional English proficiency exams. You will build new relationships, nurture existing ones, and strategize market penetration. This role demands a strong background in European higher education, a robust network within the field, and a proven ability to deliver results. The position requires significant travel across European markets and collaboration with the UK team based in London. You will play a key role in driving the adoption of the Duolingo English Test and shaping its future success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of experience working in European higher ed
  • Proven experience and deep familiarity with European higher ed
  • Strong network within the European higher ed and international admissions environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • This position is based in the EU or in London, thus candidates must have legal authorization to work in either the EU or the UK

Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption of the Duolingo English Test in the admissions process across universities across the EU
  • Nurture relationships with existing institutions
  • Assess institutions’ needs, and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Build trust relationships with higher ed partners, government and sector groups
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to implement an Irish higher ed marketing strategy
  • Represent the Duolingo English Test at high-profile speaking engagements
  • Liaise with relevant governments around visa policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with EU higher education policy setting
  • Experience working with EU national governments
  • Experience in partnership development
  • Experience with English language testing or learning
