Summary

Join OES as a Student Support Advisor on a fixed-term contract until October 31, 2025! You will be the first point of contact for students, addressing academic, emotional, and technical queries via phone, email, and web chat. Provide outbound support to at-risk students, helping them overcome barriers to success. Deep understanding of university policies and procedures is crucial. This primarily remote role requires occasional in-person meetings in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills, thrives in a team environment, and is passionate about student success. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Be the first inbound point of contact for students via phone, email, and web chatter, dealing with a range of queries or issues
  • Provide general academic advice, emotional support, technical assistance as well as enquiries relating to courses and University processes
  • Provide outbound support to struggling students and those at risk of disengagement, helping resolve barriers to success
  • Have a deep understanding of university policy, procedure, and regulations, providing proactive support to encourage and improve student engagement and progression

Preferred Qualifications

Have a minimum Bachelor level degree
