Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Health Studies, Social Sciences or a related discipline is required
  • Two (2) years of experience planning, developing and implementing educational programming and training to substance abuse outreach centers, office-based addiction treatment providers, shelters, and direct care staff
  • Ability to travel throughout City of Newark, Essex County, and areas in Northern NJ
  • Excellent public speaking skills and experience providing training and/or presentations in a professional setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for diversity and individual needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to maintain privacy and neutrality
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Arranges the coordination and delivery of statewide quarterly trainings for the Outreach Partner initiatives
  • Assesses the knowledge of, attitude toward, and behavior of individual staff and/or agencies regarding substance use disorders (SUD) and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)
  • Assists in the development or review of evaluation procedures
  • Designs and implements learning strategies which reflect adult learning theory
  • Participates in the organization of presentations for community events, conferences, and workshops as requested
  • Finds and summarizes content for bi-weekly newsletter
