Summary

Join Autism Speaks as an Events Intern for a 10-12 week remote summer program! Gain valuable event planning experience by assisting with the planning and execution of New York Area Events, including Golf Outings, Special Events, and Walks. As a member of the development team, you will develop event timelines, planning processes, and community outreach skills. The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s degree, able to receive class credit, and committed to a flexible 20-hour work week. This remote position requires living in downstate New York (Westchester or New York City). You will receive necessary training and staff supervision.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Able to receive class credit
  • Commitment to a flexible work schedule of 20 hours per week during standard business hours
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Excellent customer service skills in dealing with internal and external constituents
  • Must have the ability to work with a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Social Media Technology
  • This is a remote position, but applicant must live in downstate New York (Westchester or New York City)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event logistics for events across downstate New York
  • Assist in donor, sponsor and volunteer outreach and stewardship
  • Assist with school outreach
  • Assist with Area marketing and communications, including email and social media content
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Assist with two (2) silent auctions
