Summary

Join Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) as a Supplier Development Specialist and bridge the gap between DCS's goals and its supply chain. You will cultivate long-term supplier relationships, focusing on performance and future potential. This data-driven role requires you to be the primary contact for key supply chain partners, developing strategies to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risks. You will regularly meet with suppliers, identify new vendors, drive performance improvements, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape DCS's supply chain strategy and contribute to the company's continued success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • You are intimately familiar with the processes of a project-based business in warehouse automation, construction, material handling, or similar field
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills that allow you to effectively communicate with many levels of leadership both internal and external to DCS
  • Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), with an emphasis on data manipulation and presentation
  • Working knowledge to read layout, elevation, and/or schematic drawings

Responsibilities

  • Be the SME on a category or categories of vendors and own our relationship with them. The first category this position will own will be controls engineering & field wiring subcontractors
  • Create supply chain strategies that drive down costs, improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and create value add propositions for our customers
  • Meet regularly with our most important suppliers in your category to review forecasts, strategies, capacity, performance, and industry trends
  • Seek out and effectively vet new vendors
  • Drive performance improvements and consult on escalation issues regarding your category or categories
  • Track data to create and drive strategies and measure their success
  • Report to leadership on supplier strategy and KPIs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to controls engineering and field wiring of conveyor systems
  • Project management experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Engineering experience
