Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote work setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in patient engagement, scheduling, and care coordination
- Comfortable working with medical terminology and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, Mac OS, and Google applications
- Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound calls, obtain demographic information for new patients, and schedule or reschedule appointments per protocol
- Communicate with patients via video consultations, phone calls, and other digital tools while adhering to telehealth best practices
- Accurately collect and document member clinical and demographic data in a timely manner within electronic health record (EHR) and care facilitation platforms
- Coordinate correspondence, faxing, and outgoing patient communications, including standard mailings, news, and member resources
- Work closely with care team members to coordinate care on behalf of patients, including managing referrals and scheduling needs
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines while advocating for patients and families in their interactions with providers, billing and insurance companies, and other stakeholders
- Partner with the care team to complete visit-related tasks, upload member forms, conduct eligibility checks, and generate standard reports
- Utilize care facilitation and scheduling platforms to track tasks, organize information, and optimize member experiences
- Provide non-judgmental, respectful, and empathetic assistance to patients and caregivers, ensuring their needs are met with efficiency and compassion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare operations or patient support
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent background
- Experience coordinating and managing referrals
- Prior experience in a startup or rapidly growing organization
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
