Summary
Sundays for dogs is looking for a Senior Vice President of Finance to lead the strategic direction of their finance function. The SVP of Finance will be responsible for creating and driving financial processes, policies, controls, systems, and reporting to ensure all objectives are met in support of the companyβs business. They will also manage the company's operating model, top-line forecasts, and deliver financial reports to the executive team and board of directors. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, proven track record of leading finance teams, partnering with cross-functional leaders, and minimum 8+ years of Finance and FP&A experience. Preferred experience includes leading finance in a CPG or e-commerce business, equity/debt fundraising, financial analyses, strategic recommendations to the executive team and Board members, comfortability being in the weeds and building models, ERP implementation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high Emotional Intelligence as a leader and mentor, understanding of manufacturing & perishable ingredients, and experience working remotely with Slack, Asana and Notion. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Proven track record of hiring, leading and retaining a high performing finance team
- Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional leaders including marketing, supply chain and e-commerce
- Minimum 8+ years of Finance and FP&A experience
Responsibilities
- Implement and lead monthly financial meetings with the leadership team to review budget v. actuals on all key expenses, capital expenditures and fixed asset lines
- Lead and be responsible for business forecasting + scenario analysis
- Establish a formal budget setting process and lead the company through the annualized process
- Prepare monthly and quarterly external reporting for actual v budget along with appropriate KPIβs for all major line items
- Partner with the Senior Leadership team to formulate strategic plans and ensure financial considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making
- Oversee and lead outsourced Accounting team to formalize and streamline the companyβs monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting process
- Manage, Mentor, and help develop a finance team capable of supporting rapid growth
- Conduct appropriate ad hoc analyses and financial modeling as necessary to support key business decisions
- Manage the financials in a way to set the company up for a number of potential exits, including but not limited to, cash management to profitability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading finance in a CPG or e-commerce business is required
- Experience with equity/debt fundraising is a must have!
- Experience with financial analyses and strategic recommendations to the executive team and Board members
- Must be comfortable being in the weeds and building models
- Experience with an ERP implementation is preferred
