Join PocketHealth's dynamic Technical Services team as a skilled System Administrator. You will play a key role in implementing, supporting, and optimizing PocketHealth solutions within the technical infrastructure of our hospital providers. Leveraging your expertise in healthcare interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7, and FHIR), you will design, develop, and implement integration solutions for healthcare applications. You will collaborate with clinical and IT teams to ensure seamless data exchange and workflow automation. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3-5 years of experience with healthcare system integrations, and strong knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and FHIR standards. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with healthcare system integrations, specifically with DICOM, HL7 (v2.x/v3), and FHIR standards
- Hands-on experience with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, InterSystems Ensemble) and interface management
- Familiarity with healthcare IT workflows, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) and PACS systems
- Deep knowledge of DICOM imaging standards and how they integrate with healthcare IT systems
- Strong understanding of HL7 messaging standards, including message structure, data types, and common use cases in healthcare
- Practical experience with FHIR APIs, including resource management, search, and CRUD operations
- Ability to map and transform data between disparate formats and systems
- Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), APIs, and data integration protocols
- Experience with database management (SQL, NoSQL) and querying techniques
- Familiarity with HL7 interface engines and integration platforms (Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud services, healthcare cloud environments, and IT infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement integration solutions for healthcare applications using DICOM, HL7, and FHIR standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications for integration projects
- Ensure interoperability between disparate healthcare systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and others
- Map and transform data between different formats (HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR resources, DICOM images) to enable smooth data exchange between systems
- Create and maintain interfaces that facilitate seamless flow of clinical data for improved patient care and workflow efficiency
- Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of integration points to ensure data integrity and proper system functioning
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to data transmission, system communication, and interface errors
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications, mapping documents, and integration guidelines
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HL7 standards, etc.) while designing and implementing integration solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, clinical staff, and external vendors, to ensure the successful implementation of integration projects
- Provide technical guidance and support to non-technical team members and end-users regarding integration-related issues
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certifications in healthcare IT (e.g., HL7 Certification, FHIR Certification)
