Summary

You will provide technical support for the infrastructure hosting the Veeva Vault application, focusing on AWS infrastructure including Linux, EC2, EBS, ELB, RDS, MySQL, and S3. Responsibilities include monitoring alerts, troubleshooting issues, building and configuring infrastructure, supporting developers, automating processes, designing new processes, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux system administration experience in an AWS environment, excellent communication skills, and experience with customers in highly regulated industries. Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in Linux system administration in a production Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
  • Strong English written/oral communication skills
  • Exposure to JIRA (or similar ticketing system) for workload management
  • Experience working with customers from highly regulated industries
  • Strong desire to learn and share knowledge with a diverse global team

Responsibilities

  • Provide best practice support for the Vault application on AWS infrastructure
  • Monitor alerts and troubleshoot critical production issues impacting customer end-users including system availability, performance and data integrity issues
  • Build out, deploy and configure new infrastructure
  • Provide support to developers during regular code releases
  • Automation of software deployment, configuration management, and performance management in the AWS environment
  • Design and implement new processes and keep existing documentation and tools up to date as the environment changes
  • Continuously learn and innovate. Participate in developing new solutions to complex problems
  • Cross train with other team members to share knowledge and learn from others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
  • Experience with Check_MK or similar monitoring tools
  • Previous automation using Ansible or Lambda
  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
  • Experience of other cloud IAAS providers (Azure, Google, IBM)
