Requirements

  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows server operating systems, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
  • Proficiency in hardware and software configuration, installation, and administration in a Wintel environment
  • Strong understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Knowledge and experience of scripting languages such as PowerShell to automate tasks and improve system management
  • Familiarity with server hardware technologies and configurations, including RAID, SAN, and NAS
  • Several years of experience in Wintel systems engineering, including deploying, and maintaining small to large-scale systems
  • Experience with server migrations and upgrades, including hardware and software changes
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution, including backup and restore processes
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and administering various infrastructure technologies such as storage, databases, and middleware
  • Familiarity with security concepts and protocols such as encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • A valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are required

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and management of Windows Server OS platforms, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the operating system and applications
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software, such as SAN systems, hypervisors, and backup systems
  • Administration and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Administration of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, including the design, configuration, and support of virtual environments
  • Provisioning and management of cloud-based resources, such as Azure, including monitoring and optimising performance and availability
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues related to servers, applications, and infrastructure
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as network and security teams, to ensure the smooth operation of the entire IT environment
  • Development and maintenance of system documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications in the above technologies are highly desirable
