Summary
Join Slingshot Aerospace as an IT Systems Engineer supporting corporate IT initiatives. This remote position, strongly preferring Mountain Time Zone candidates, requires providing top-notch technical support, managing endpoints, administering Microsoft 365 services, developing automation scripts, and maintaining backup solutions. You will also create technical documentation, support system integration, and participate in project planning. The role includes on-call rotation for emergency support. Minimum requirements include an Associate's degree in a related field and proficiency with Linux and Windows servers. Preferred skills include network design and operations experience, cloud experience, and scripting proficiency.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain or maintain US Government Security Clearance
- Associate degree in Information Technologies, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field equivalent experience
- Proficiency with administering Linux and Windows servers
- Experience with developing scripts in at least one of the following: Bash shell, Python, or Ansible
- Customer-success-driven, hands-on, action-oriented, positive personality
Responsibilities
- Provide top-notch technical support and troubleshooting for end users across Mac and Windows workstations and Microsoft applications and other applications as needed, handling all levels of complexity
- Onboarding and offboarding and hardware procurement
- Manage and support Mac and Windows endpoints including OS updates, security patches, MDM deployment and management, and performance optimization and automation
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, Entra ID, and Azure
- Administer IDP and SSO on Okta and Entra ID or similar platforms
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows using shell scripting, PowerShell, and Python to streamline IT operations
- Configure and manage Entra ID, including user management, conditional access policies, and security settings
- Deploy and maintain Microsoft business applications across Mac and Windows environments, managing updates and compatibility
- Implement and maintain backup solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation for Mac-specific processes and Microsoft application configurations as well as our day-to-day workflows and tooling
- Support integration between Mac systems and Microsoft services, ensuring smooth cross-platform functionality
- Support as backup to the Global Sensor Network with networking, Linux systems, firewalls, and Zero Trust Networks (Twingate)
- Participate in project planning and implementation of new services
- Maintain on-call rotation to provide after-hours emergency support for critical systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years experience with network design and operations, including Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper equipment
- 1+ years experience with Network security, including firewalls, IPS, DNS, and IDS systems
- 2+ years experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies
- 2+ years experience developing and scripting in the following: Python and Powershell
- B.S. degree in Information Technologies, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field equivalent experience
- Experience or a keen interest in learning about telescope hardware and software systems
Benefits
Compensation Range: $108,000 - $132,000 per year
