Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in School of Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical or functional discipline
  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau Desktop
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis and related tools and technologies (e.g., SQL)
  • 4+ years of experience with Tableau Desktop
  • Passion for creating aesthetically pleasing, engaging, and effective data visualizations
  • Experience delivering front-end business intelligence or analytics solutions (data visualization, reporting, etc.) with working knowledge of back-end infrastructure (IT, data engineering, etc.)
  • Working understanding of visual analytics best practices, development processes, and knowledge of typical BI & analytics tools and technologies (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, etc.)
  • Proactive mindset, reliable, and organized; can effectively manage oneโ€™s own time among competing priorities
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance

Responsibilities

  • Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, scientists, and engineers to collect, define, analyze, and deliver dashboard products in Tableau as well as other ad hoc data analyses
  • Demonstrates products created to a variety of mid- and senior- level stakeholders as well as promote interest, passion, community engagement, and knowledge about business intelligence and analytics products across the organization
  • Writes queries and performs complex joins for generating appropriate data views; conducts performance tuning for Tableau data sources where necessary and makes recommendations to the team for performance improvements
  • Establishes, communicates, and drives best practices for Tableau, and helps ensure standards are being met; encourages innovation to keep pace with latest technologies, releases, and improvements
  • Assists in requirements gathering and analysis through user interviews, workshops, and existing requirements documentation and solicitations for projects; relate business needs to technical requirements and create products that meet those needs to drive decisions and create value for the organization
  • Occasionally assists with training initiatives, particularly with respect to analytics and data visualization methodologies, as needed; assists with technical product documentation where applicable
  • Works independently with minimum supervision to process ad-hoc data and reporting requests, enhancements for existing products, and perform maintenance on existing reports and dashboards
