Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in multistate taxation in a corporate setting
  • Proficient in corporate and multistate taxation
  • Experience with tax laws, tax forms and processing, accounting principles, accounting software and GAAP
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to travel to corporate offices as needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare recurring compliance and provision work, book/tax differences, account reconciliations, etc
  • Prepare state tax schedules as required
  • Assist with audits and respond to notices and inquiries as needed
  • Assist with federal, state and local provision calculations and special projects
  • Coordinate with outside stakeholders, as needed
  • Assist in identifying and developing tax processes, drafting policies and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Responsible for complying with applicable laws, regulations and company policies
  • Compliance work including but not limited to federal, state and local taxes, quarterly estimated taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, business licenses, gross receipts tax and information returns
  • Provide support to the accounting department with both ad hoc projects and daily activities in the financial cycle
