Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field
- Proven experience working as an Accountant in a BPO company handling Australian Taxation for a minimum of 3+ years
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian Tax
- Well-versed in accounting principles and understanding of accounting practices
- Ability to manage your own workflow and deadlines
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Efficiency in using MS Excel
- Good communication skills - verbal and written
- XERO knowledge essential
Responsibilities
- Work directly with an Australian senior accountant in a 100% Xero firm
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for Australian Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Sole Traders
- Assist with the preparation of income tax returns for individuals
- Preparation of workpapers and reconciliations
- Preparation of various Business Activity Statements & Instalment Activity Statements
- Assist in the reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts according to legal and accounting standards
- Assist Senior Accountant with ad hoc tasks as necessary
- Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded, including Asset Registers and depreciation schedules
- Assist with reviewing of general ledger accounts, payroll and superannuation balances
- Assist with setup and configuration of Xero for clients
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies as required
- Assist in the preparation of tax planning reports
- Processing transactions via Xero and Dext
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license will be highly advantageous
