Summary

Join Flywire as a Tax Director and lead the global tax strategy, compliance, and reporting functions. Responsibilities include leading the global tax strategy, overseeing direct and indirect tax compliance, developing tax-efficient structures, managing tax audits, providing technical tax expertise, collaborating with other teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, staying informed on regulatory changes, implementing process improvements, and leading a high-performing tax team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in taxation, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate tax, including experience in global tax compliance, planning, and structuring
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax laws, along with international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes
  • Experience managing tax audits, controversy resolution, and relationships with tax authorities
  • Proficiency in tax reporting, financial statements, and ASC 740 tax accounting standards
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that drive business efficiencies and mitigate risks
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, tax forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives

Responsibilities

  • Lead Flywire’s global tax strategy, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including corporate income tax, sales tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax filings
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and planning strategies to optimize Flywire’s financial performance
  • Manage tax audits, disputes, and interactions with tax authorities, mitigating risks and resolving issues efficiently
  • Provide technical tax expertise on M&A transactions, transfer pricing policies, and cross-border taxation
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams to assess tax implications of strategic business decisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and provisions, working closely with accounting teams to support financial audits
  • Stay informed on global tax regulatory changes, advising leadership on potential impacts and necessary adjustments
  • Implement process improvements and automation to enhance tax reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Lead and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, JD, or master’s degree in taxation
  • Experience in high-growth, technology, fintech, or multinational organizations
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment, while effectively managing a global tax team
