Summary
Join Vanta as our Tax Manager and oversee tax compliance across various jurisdictions. You will lead tax account reconciliations, manage indirect taxes, and prepare tax filings. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure accurate and timely compliance. This role requires a proactive approach to tax-related issues and strong analytical skills. You will report to the Director of Accounting and contribute to process improvements within the tax department. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax accounting
- Experience with indirect taxes such as sales tax, VAT, and GST
- Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and familiarity with tax compliance across various jurisdictions
- Experience with financial software systems (Netsuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with sales tax reporting software (Anrok, Avalara, etc)
Responsibilities
- Lead the reconciliation of all tax-related accounts, including global income tax, sales tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes
- Manage other indirect taxes, including VAT, GST, and excise taxes, ensuring timely and accurate filings in all applicable jurisdictions
- Oversee the preparation and filing of sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and international tax laws
- Assist in the management of tax audits, ensuring proper documentation and responses to tax authorities when required
- Support the preparation of tax-related financial reports, provisions and disclosures
- Collaborate with external tax providers to ensure timely and accurate filing of compliance matters in the US and foreign subsidiaries
- Provide tax advice to support business decisions and operations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation where applicable
- Provide analysis of tax data to identify potential risks, exposures, and opportunities for tax optimization
- Continuously assess and improve tax accounting processes and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Implement best practices for tax compliance and ensure the team follows established processes to minimize errors or delays
- Perform any additional duties related to tax accounting as needed
