Summary

The position requires 7-15 years of experience with estate, gift & trust, and individual income tax returns, active CPA or CFP license, degree in Accounting or related field, and exceptional writing skills. The salary range is $100,000 - $220,000 per year. Requirements

  • 7-15 years with estate, gift & trust, and individual income tax returns
  • Extensive knowledge of the preparation/review of trusts, estate, gift tax returns and trust accounting
  • Estate planning experience/expertise
  • Active CPA or CFP license highly preferred
  • Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Masters in Taxation, JD or other applicable advanced degree preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Strong accounting, analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel locally (DC, MD, VA) on a limited basis

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax planning and consulting advice on estate, gift and trust matters
  • Develop and provide tax planning strategies internally and externally
  • Analyze estate planning documents to determine the proper treatment of assets and liabilities for tax purposes
  • Review tax compliance related to estates, gifts and trusts
  • Supervise tax staff to ensure that tax engagements are completed in an efficient and timely manner
  • Serve as mentor to staff and aid in their development
  • Strengthen existing client relationships and assist in new business development efforts
  • Attend and participate in industry specific forums and networking events
  • Manage key relationships with critical business contacts, clients and referral sources
  • Identify additional opportunities for service growth to offer current clients
  • Act as a firm leader and serve as resident expert for the firm on all estate, gift and trust tax matters
