Tech Lead Manager

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• At least 1 year dedicated to full-time engineering team management
• Proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams
• Skilled at hiring talented engineers at various levels and building high-performing teams
• Ability to make strategic trade-offs to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, scaling environment
• Strong development and system design skills
• Experience in Python, React, and AWS as a plus
• Ability to optimize APIs and SQL queries for performance
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as DataDog, Sentry, or similar services
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team (4 to 5 people) of experienced engineers
• Dive deep into problems, effectively delegate responsibilities, grow and develop talented engineers, and cultivate a results-driven, high-performance culture
• Conduct code reviews and discuss architectural designs
• Triage issues, investigate timeouts, and ensure the stability of the system
• Improve latency of SQL queries and API endpoints
• Optimize usage of cloud and other service providers to keep expenditures under control
• Grow the team, delegate, ensure important items are being delivered on time
• Build and design integrations with external systems
