Summary
The job is for a Technical Account Manager at CARTO, a cloud-native location intelligence platform. Requirements
- Be a great communicator
- Be passionate about technology but also eager to learn how that technology can be applied to solve business problems
- 3 or more years of expertise in GIS consultancy using any mix of geospatial technology and tools
- Strong knowledge and experience working with geospatial technology and tools, particularly open source tools and libraries
- Hands-on or knowledge of major cloud platforms (particularly data warehouses) such as Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (Redshift), etc
- Experience working on solution-oriented apps using a wide range of technologies such as Python, Javascript, PostGIS, SQL, APIs, and more
- Ability to develop applications in HTML/CSS and Javascript (bonus points for React with Redux), and perform data analysis using SQL/Python (itโs okay if you are stronger in one or the other, but a willingness to learn both is key!)
- A collaborative work style. Proven ability to develop successful collaborations, trust, and communications with executive leadership, technical and support teams, along with different users of the software
- A positive mindset. Youโre motivated with a sense of urgency in executing and delivering growth. You run quickly with little supervision
- Most of all, you are optimistic, data-driven, smart, and eager to learn!
Responsibilities
- Work with our largest, most strategic customers as a part of the (post-sales) Customer Success organization
- Transform requirements into a real deliverable utilizing your expertise and other internal resources
- Empathize and understand our customerโs challenges; build a vision for a solution that solves a business problem; and enable the customer to make critical business decisions using CARTO and our cloud partners
- Establish a trusted advisor relationship with our most strategic enterprise customers across different verticals
- Maintain high levels of engagement to ensure your customers see value from insights, increase adoption, and uncover new uses for CARTOโs location intelligence tools
- Communicate effectively in both technical and business discussions, with both technology users and executive-level decision makers
- Architect and implement solutions for use cases such as Site Selection, Territory Planning, Geomarketing, or Market Analysis
- Strategize with the customer on a use case maturity plan and growth with CARTO
- Develop proofs of concept, prototypes and small applications using the CARTO platform
