Job highlights

Summary

Join Northflank, a venture-backed production workload platform, as a Technical Content Writer. You will be one of the first marketing hires, creating engaging content for engineers and developers. This includes technical deep dives, blog posts, SEO-driven articles, and deployment guides. You will need to understand developer needs and prioritize content distribution across various platforms. The role requires strong writing, SEO, and analytical skills. This is a remote, full-time position with flexible hours and a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • Be a storyteller who knows how to write for engineers: clear, concise, and jargon-free, with a knack for presenting technical topics in a relatable way
  • Have experience with SEO strategy, including keyword research, optimization, and crafting content designed to rank well and drive traffic
  • Possess a deep understanding of how engineers think and what they care about, with an ability to balance technical depth with accessibility
  • Have strong editorial instincts: you know how to structure an article, craft an irresistible title, and hook readers from the start
  • Be a self-starter with opinions: you have ideas about what’s trending in the cloud/DevOps space and are excited to contribute to Northflank’s thought leadership
  • Have an analytical mindset: you’re not just writing—you’re measuring and iterating based on performance data to maximize the impact of your work
  • Ability to write high-quality and easy-to-read code across multiple tech stacks
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes/containerization and cloud computing technologies, including hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • English fluency

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging, well-researched content that resonates with engineers and developers. This includes editorial pieces, technical deep dives (like blog posts about integrations), and SEO-driven articles (like “Best alternatives to X,” “What is BYOC,” etc)
  • Write engaging content to educate prospective users on Northflank, DevOps, and the cloud native ecosystem (documentation, blog posts, tutorials, demos, coding challenges, support articles, YouTube videos, feedback surveys, and more)
  • Understand how developers think—write stories that appeal to their logic, curiosity, and desire for no-BS content
  • Prioritize distribution from the start: craft content optimized for platforms like Hacker News, LinkedIn, dev subreddits, and other developer communities. We don’t believe in “write it and they will come”—you’ll actively strategize how to get our content in front of the right audience, leveraging timing, tone, and platform-specific tactics to maximize reach and engagement
  • Develop titles that grab attention and set clear direction—if you can’t nail the title upfront, the idea isn’t ready yet
  • Focus on the 80/20 rule: prioritize topics and formats with the highest impact on traffic, engagement, and lead gen (how do we get a blog reader to book a demo or create an account)
  • Stay plugged into trends in the cloud and DevOps space. Be opinionated and ready to pitch timely ideas
  • Collaborate with the team to create engaging visuals in Figma that support the story you’re telling

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points if you can design simple visuals or diagrams in Figma to complement your writing

Benefits

  • $85-110k (or equivalent)
  • Equity Package
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • 31 days paid time off annually
  • Comprehensive benefits
