Requirements

  • Proven experience as a technical editor, preferably in DoD or government contracting environments
  • Strong understanding of DoD terminology, procurement processes, and security guidelines
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical language into clear, persuasive marketing content
  • Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other relevant style guides
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; experience with content management systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Edit and refine technical marketing materials, including emails, flyers, event websites, presentations, case studies, and proposals
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with DoD guidelines and branding requirements
  • Proofread content for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
  • Collaborate with marketing, business development, and subject matter experts to enhance content readability and impact
  • Verify accuracy of technical information and ensure compliance with DoD regulations and security requirements
  • Adapt complex technical content into engaging, accessible materials for various audiences
  • Provide editorial feedback and recommendations to improve content effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Knowledge of government proposal and contracting regulations as they relate to branding and design is a plus
  • Experience designing for government proposals, contracts, and presentations
  • Understanding of federal and commercial government contractor marketing strategies
  • Ability to adapt design strategies for various clients and audiences
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Be self-directed by independently managing tasks, owning projects, and driving them to completion with minimal supervision
  • Positive, collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across all assets
