Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • 5+ years of experience conducting scientific research related to AI and machine learning, particularly in LLMs
  • Passion for addressing societal impacts of AI and promoting transparency and accountability in AI technologies
  • Publication record in reputable journals. (A record of working on relevant technical products in industry may count instead.)
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks

Responsibilities

  • Development of research ideas into actionable research questions and technical frameworks
  • Creative adaption of ideas from one research domain to another
  • Lead applied technical research on LLMs, including testing, auditing, and commercialization risks
  • Publish original research in academic journals and working papers
  • Translate research into thought leadership through blogs, articles, and social media
  • Help develop policy briefs and engage in public discussions on AI transparency and safety
  • Lead the development and implementation of technical frameworks for LLM auditing and AI disclosures
  • Manage empirical research projects focusing on the risks associated with AI commercialization
  • Coordinate with researchers and stakeholders to ensure impactful research outputs
  • Organize and participate in in-person and virtual workshops, events, and conferences
  • Facilitate discussions with industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders
  • Represent the project’s priorities and principles in communications with collaborators
