Technical Product Manager

Summary

Join Blockstream, a market leader in Bitcoin security and Layer-2 technologies, as an experienced Technical Product Manager. Lead efforts to onboard more users onto the Lightning network, overseeing Core Lightning, Greenlight, and Lightning integration in other Blockstream products. Responsibilities include engaging with users to identify needs, creating a product vision, developing revenue-generating strategies, optimizing user experience, building a product roadmap, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses 7+ years of product management experience, experience with API surfaces and developer users, a strong grasp of Bitcoin and Lightning protocols, and exceptional communication skills. A background in Bitcoin-related products or payments solutions is preferred.

Requirements

• 7+ years product management experience or equivalent roles
• Experience leading products with API surfaces and developer users
• Demonstrated ability to incubate new ideas, validate and ship products in ambiguous or developing markets
• Analytical mindset and metrics-driven approach. Can use data to inform decisions
• B.S. in Computer Science or other technical fields of study
• Strong grasp of the Bitcoin and Lightning protocols
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with remote team members in different time zones (spanning Europe, Americas and Australia.)

Responsibilities

• Engage with developers, businesses and end users to identify market needs and pain points
• Create a product vision to accelerate Lightning adoption
• Validate, develop and deploy strategies to grow revenue
• Optimize the user experience for all segments and users, including developers, node operators, consumer/business end-users
• Work with engineering to build a roadmap that balances features and strategic efforts with platform improvements and advances to the Lightning specification
• Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders to align strategy, sales and marketing efforts, and plans with other product teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience on Bitcoin-related products
• Prior track record of building solutions in the payments space - ecommerce, ordering/invoicing, payment instruments, etc
• Working understanding of payments products on legacy rails
