Summary
Join GoDaddy's team as a Product Manager to lead the Certificate Authority (CA) platform. You will align the CA with industry standards, represent GoDaddy in organizations like the CAB Forum, and guide security, trust, and innovation plans. Responsibilities include tracking regulatory developments, translating CAB Forum requirements into roadmap items, performing gap assessments, collaborating with various teams on remediation plans, defining key metrics, owning the product roadmap, prioritizing features, exploring next-generation cryptography, and acting as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in PKI/applied cryptography or product management, proficiency in digital certificates and PKI, familiarity with CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements, and the ability to translate regulatory language into technical requirements. This is a remote position, with occasional office visits.
Requirements
- Extensive experience of 5+ years in PKI / applied cryptography or product management, preferably in PKI, security, or environments dedicated to compliance
- Proficient in digital certificates, applied cryptography, public key infrastructure (PKI), and certificate lifecycle management
- Familiarity with CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements and industry governance models
- Experience working with or in a Certificate Authority, or a security-focused product team
- Ability to translate regulatory language into technical and product requirements
Responsibilities
- Represent the CA in industry forums (e.g., CA/Browser Forum) and advocate for standards and requirements to further PKI and security on behalf of company and our customers
- Track and interpret regulatory and CAB Forum developments; ensure alignment of internal policies and product direction with compliance requirements
- Translate CAB Forum requirements into internal roadmap items and engineering stories
- Perform continuous gap assessments on the existing CA infrastructure to pinpoint risks, legacy dependencies, or deviations from compliance and operational standard methodologies
- Collaborate with security, engineering, and audit teams to define and implement remediation plans that elevate the health and resilience of the CA system
- Ensure regular internal reviews and assessments are built into the roadmap to maintain a strong system-of-record and audit trail
- Define critical metrics and health indicators that indicate system compliance, availability, and readiness for upcoming regulatory changes
- Own the product roadmap for CA capabilities, focusing on compliance, reliability, automation, and innovation
- Collaborate with engineering, security, legal, and operations to plan and deliver enhancements to our certificate platform
- Prioritize product features based on risk, market evolution, customer needs, and compliance deadlines
- Explore and assess next-generation cryptography (e.g., PQC, hybrid algorithms)
- Lead prototyping efforts and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for new cryptographic solutions and emerging standards
- Partner with internal security and cryptography experts to assess technical feasibility and integration strategies
- Act as a subject matter expert on CA product capabilities for customers, partners, auditors, and internal teams
- Communicate complex technical and regulatory topics to both technical and non-technical partners
- Prioritize and support strategic customer discussions related to certificate lifecycle, automation, and compliance
- Strong project management and outstanding cross-functional leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to post-quantum cryptography or modern cryptographic research
- Experience with security audits and compliance processes (e.g., WebTrust, ETSI)
- Technical background (e.g., CS, IT Security, or Engineering degree)
- Familiarity with ACME, CT logs, OCSP, and certificate automation tools
