Summary
Join Singular Genomics as a Technical Product Owner β Software and drive the execution of software features across multiple Agile teams, including instrument control, algorithms, and web applications. Collaborate with technical leads, product managers, and customer-facing teams to manage software backlogs, define user stories, and ensure development priorities align with scientific and business goals. This role is highly collaborative and delivery-focused, at the core of our product development process. The position offers the flexibility of being remote or on-site, with quarterly travel to San Diego required for remote employees. You will work at the intersection of science, software, and strategy, helping bring impactful life science products to market. Compensation includes a base salary range of $136,800 - $188,000, a variable cash program (bonus or commission), and potential equity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a technical product manager, product owner, or similar role
- Background in both software development and scientific domains (e.g., life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, bioinformatics)
- Proven ability to write clear requirements and manage software development backlogs
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies; familiarity with Scrum and/or SAFe is a plus
- Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple scrum teams and bridging between product, engineering, and customer-facing functions
- Hands-on familiarity with software tools like Jira, Confluence, and/or GitHub
Responsibilities
- Work closely with software and algorithm engineers to define and manage product backlogs and sprint content
- Translate high-level requirements from the product team, scientists, and customers into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
- Contribute to product-level strategy sessions and quarterly planning reviews
- Act as the primary interface with cross-functional stakeholders
- Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies across multiple scrum teams
- Ensure product features are delivered on time and aligned with business and user needs
- Attend core team meetings and customer debriefs to ensure continuous feedback and context are integrated into the roadmap
- Partner with technical leads and the product team to assess risks, trade-offs and mitigations, refine priorities, and maintain alignment across product iterations
- Ensure complete feature delivery includes appropriate documentation and training materials availability for internal and external users
- Help drive clarity and decision-making within an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting regulated software development (e.g., CLIA, FDA, ISO) is a plus
