Summary

The job is for a Technical Project Manager at the California Dental Association (CDA) who will gather business requirements, develop IT solutions, and lead implementation of SAAS solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in technical project management with complex IT systems
  • Expected to be an advanced professional in the systems & process design and implementation space
  • Ability to look at a business problem from all angles to identify comprehensive requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements
  • Ability to comprehend technical subjects including software development and systems architecture, as well as document/translate the basic meaning behind these subjects
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Experience leading design thinking brainstorming sessions preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Iterative, Traditional waterfall and hybrid methodologies. Experience adjusting project delivery model based on the project needs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide business and technical leadership for high-complexity projects across multiple initiatives in CDA’s technology and business units
  • Drive the project to meet defined scope, deadlines, and budget projections
  • Perform functions of test management, scope management, schedule management, IT change management, OCM, training, release/deployment management, risk, issue, dependency, and impediment management
  • Develop cutover plans and facilitate cutover calls
  • Develop and maintain Roadmap for assigned Projects
  • Lead and facilitate scrum meetings including but not limited to daily scrum backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • Work in partnership with Product Owners to deliver business needs includes providing support for user story creation/management and facilitating impediment/dependency resolutions
  • Clearly define meeting agendas/objectives, document meeting notes and assign action items to be resolved within defined timeframes
  • Manage cross-functional teams across different time zones
  • Proactively monitor and track planned work and follow-up with team members on delayed tasks
  • Enable fast-paced digital environment through modern design approaches and emerging technology including design thinking and agile delivery methodologies
  • Use abilities to positively influence customers and manage expectations
  • Improve processes that accelerate innovation, reduce costs and/or improve quality
  • Act as liaison between business stakeholders, such as management, customers or end users, and the software development or information technology team

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred previous experience working in the roles of Business analyst, System Analyst, Scrum Master, or Quality Analyst
