Summary
Join WRS Health as a Senior Technical Project Manager, bridging technical expertise and business strategy to ensure product robustness, scalability, and security while prioritizing customer needs. This high-level role demands significant technical depth, leadership, and cross-team collaboration. You will gather and document requirements, oversee development cycles, allocate resources, and ensure adherence to best practices. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with experience in Agile methodologies. This is an independent contractor role offering remote work within standard US business hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or Software Development Manager and similar role in software development
- Strong understanding of full-stack development, including both frontend and backend technologies
- Strong understanding of programming languages, software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and relevant technical architecture
- Experience in project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
- Ability to assess development efforts, define realistic timelines, and allocate resources effectively
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical details into business-friendly language
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks early
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code review processes
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business and technical requirements to define project scope, cost, and timeline
- Act as a subject matter expert ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business goals
- Facilitate the meetings and agenda for development projects
- Oversee software development cycles, setting clear milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
- Assess development workloads to allocate resources efficiently and set realistic expectations
- Ensure technical documentation, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices
- Identify risks and bottlenecks in the development process, proactively addressing them to ensure smooth project delivery
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical solutions that align with business needs
- Work with various stakeholders, including product owners, account managers and clients, to understand needs and incorporate them into the product strategy
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure software meets technical standards
- Monitor project progress, providing status updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans as necessary
- Define and prioritize technical stories in the product backlog, balancing business needs with technical constraints and long-term sustainability
- Facilitate Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a senior full stack developer is highly preferred
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and product managers
