Summary
Join BeyondTrust's Technical Communications team as a Technical Writer and contribute to creating and maintaining product documentation for our cybersecurity SaaS portfolio. You will collaborate with a stellar team in a cross-functional, distributed environment. Responsibilities include maintaining knowledge of BeyondTrust products, reviewing requirements, conducting research, interviewing subject matter experts, and working with UX and Product Management teams. You will also work with the Engineering team to document features and functionality, and peer review others' work. This role requires at least two years of technical writing experience in a software environment and a competent understanding of writing standards. Requirements
- Must have at least two (2) years of technical writing experience in a software environment
- Must possess a competent understanding of writing standards, concepts, common practices, and authoring procedures
- Basic knowledge of photo capturing and editing tools, such as SnagIt, is required
Responsibilities
- Maintain a proficient level of knowledge of BeyondTrust products and assist others in enhancing their knowledge
- Review requirements and perform independent research to learn about new products, features, and functionality
- Interview and work with subject matter experts to write technically accurate and well-informed product documentation
- Work with the UX design team to create or edit effective, moment-of-need, in-app UX copy
- Work with Product Managers to determine the necessary documentation deliverables, scope out prior to project kickoff, and draft an information architecture/structure of those deliverables for approval
- Work with the Engineering team to understand and document the features & functionality
- Peer review others' work for localization and brand standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
- Experience with the Readme.com platform, or similar
- Experience in using single-source authoring principles
- Technical experience
- Knowledge of API documentation best practices
- Experience working with Unix and/or Linux systems
- Experience working with or on an Agile team
