Telehealth Patient Care Advocate

Summary
Join Hey Jane as a Patient Care Advocate and be a vital part of providing safe and discreet reproductive and sexual health care. You will be the primary point of contact for patient inquiries, answering questions, providing support, and escalating concerns as needed. This role requires close collaboration with clinicians and the clinical operations team to ensure timely handling of patient consults and inquiries. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to patient care and safety, possesses excellent communication skills, and has experience in abortion care or as an abortion doula. The position offers part-time or full-time options with flexible shifts, and compensation is $29.50/hr or $60k/yr. The position is fully remote with work permitted from select states.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Bachelorβs degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in areas such as care coordination, nursing, support/hospitality, and/or customer service
- Experience working and coordinating with healthcare professionals including doctors, counselors, nurse practitioners and clinic staff
- Commitment to reproductive justice, racial equity, and improving patient care experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
- Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
- Proficient with web-based applications; highly comfortable with technology
- Clearly and respectfully communicates with patients and team
Responsibilities
- Respond to patient questions and provide support
- Triage medical questions
- Identify issues when they arise
- Escalate concerns to the appropriate team member as needed
- Work closely with clinicians and the clinical operations team to ensure patient consults and inquiries are handled in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Startup experience
- Experience in chat triage
- 1+ years providing abortion care
- Competency in providing trauma-informed care
- 1+ year of telehealth experience
- 1+ year working with insurance payors
