Remote Transcription Team Manager

Summary

The job is for a Transcription Team Manager at Productive Playhouse Inc., a global data company. The role involves managing a team of 5-10 transcribers, communicating regularly in English, monitoring progress, providing invoices, hiring and onboarding transcribers, administering language verification tests, training transcribers, troubleshooting issues, and utilizing the company's transcription program during down time. The position is remote, project-based, and offers flexible scheduling with compensation based on audio minutes transcribed, reviewed, and managed.

Requirements

• Professional work experience in Linguistics, Translation, Transcription or localization, strongly preferred
• Proficiency in computer and internet skills
• Competency on both MAC and PC platforms, Microsoft Applications, and G Suite
• Strong grammar, orthography, and punctuation skills; a proficiency test will be required
• Responsive with timely email access
• Effective web search skills
• Ability to onboard within two weeks

Responsibilities

• Regular and prompt communication in English
• Monitoring team progress and performance, while ensuring timely project completion
• Providing invoices and invoicing summaries
• Assist in hiring and onboarding transcribers, while following company-established onboarding procedures
• Administrating and grading language verification tests, as well as revising and enhancing tests as needed
• Training and providing support for transcribers
• During down time, utilize company transcription program to transcribe alongside transcribers to help progression of project
• Troubleshoot alongside Team Services Manager and department Operations Coordinator to resolve any issues reported by transcribers during their work, such as bad data, technical issues, etc
