Summary
Join our team as a Transportation Specialist and coordinate and manage inbound and outbound freight for B2B and manufacturing operations. You will ensure timely and cost-effective transportation, working with carriers, the TMS system, warehouses, and internal teams. The ideal candidate possesses a strong freight coordination background, problem-solving skills, and understands B2B and manufacturing logistics. This role reports to the Warehousing & Logistics Manager. Responsibilities include freight optimization, logistics coordination, compliance, problem resolution, performance tracking, and technology utilization. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or freight coordination, preferably in a B2B or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of freight carriers, transportation regulations, and logistics best practices
- Experience with ERP and TMS platforms (e.g., NetSuite or similar)
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with carriers and vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for freight cost optimization
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule inbound shipments, ensuring on-time delivery of raw materials and inventory to manufacturing facilities
- Oversee outbound shipments to B2B customers, retailers, and distribution centers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by optimizing transportation routes, consolidating shipments, and improving carrier performance
- Collaborate with warehouse teams, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure seamless transportation and inventory flow
- Ensure all freight movements comply with regulatory requirements, maintain proper shipping documentation, and handle any issues related to customs, duties, and tariffs as needed
- Address freight delays, damage claims, and carrier disputes promptly, minimizing disruptions to supply chain operations
- Monitor key logistics KPIs, such as on-time delivery, freight costs, and carrier performance, and provide reports to leadership
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems to track shipments, manage freight data, and improve operational efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with freight forwarding and customs clearance processes
- Familiarity with LTL, FTL, intermodal, and international shipping
- Ability to analyze logistics data to drive process improvements and cost savings
- Experience with TMS system
