UI Design Manager

Summary

Join Bixal as a Senior UI Design Manager and lead our design team in creating engaging graphics and intuitive user interfaces for government clients. Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least five years of relevant experience
• Demonstrate proven success in a lead role, preferably in a federal consulting or government environment, with accountability for a team’s results designing successful UI solutions that are user-centric, effective, and innovative
• Be a creative problem solver with a focus on delivering results
• Possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a team of designers to deliver high-quality work, fostering a culture of design excellence
• Be proficient in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Have an understanding of HTML/CSS and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers
• Be proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
• Possess a strong understanding and application of accessibility standards (Section 508) and federal design guidelines
• Have exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze user needs and translate them into design solutions
• Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Demonstrate a proven ability to be organized and detail-oriented, while managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Be adaptable and able to pivot between client-facing and management responsibilities
• Ability to pass and maintain a Public Trust security clearance

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the design team and provide guidance and mentorship to UI designers to ensure that they are delivering high-quality work
• Lead design research efforts to gain insights into user behavior, preferences, and needs and translate these insights into actionable design solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure that designs meet project requirements and support business objectives
• Oversee the creation of design deliverables, including UI components, layouts, interactions, and prototypes, and ensure that designs are implemented according to specifications and quality standards
• Participate in business development activities, including proposal development and client presentations, and maintain relationships with existing clients
• Contribute to the development of design strategies that drive innovation and competitive differentiation, and that help us expand our offerings and market presence in the federal space
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques, and contribute to the innovation and experimentation in the design function
• Work with project managers to ensure that design projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients
• Provide thought leadership on UI design trends and best practices, and advocate for the importance of user-centered design in all our design projects
