Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Gameplay Engineer in Unity game development, with at least 3 years of gameplay experience
  • Proficient in C# with a strong understanding of object oriented programming
  • Knowledge of 3D Vector math and common data structures
  • Experienced with Unity’s scripting API, editor tools and features
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Implement design concepts as functional and engaging gameplay mechanics
  • Design and implement reusable game systems
  • Optimize gameplay mechanics for performance
  • Identify and address bugs in new and existing features
  • Identify areas of technical debt and provide and implement designs to improve code maintainability
  • Document game systems and features
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional team of designers, product managers, engineers, artists, testers, and producers to ensure high quality on-time deliveries
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in server-side development and Unity game development
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in game development
