Summary
The job is for a Utility Sales Director at Optiwatt, a software-focused company working on decarbonizing the energy and transportation industries. The role involves selling Optiwatt's solution to utilities to reduce CO2 emissions and make the electric grid more flexible and sustainable. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of experience in SaaS, services, or enterprise software sales, a proven track record of exceeding sales quotas, and experience in the utility industry is a plus.
Requirements
- 2-5 years direct experience selling SaaS, services and/or enterprise software
- Successful track record of exceeding sales quotas and new business targets
- Track record of success in sales for start-ups or new product lines in an existing company
- Capable of identifying, reaching and influencing key decision-makers, stakeholders and industry influencers within targeted accounts and territory
- Demonstrated success working closely with senior executives to develop sales strategies and tactics to close business and build reference accounts
- Client advocate that develops deep relationships throughout an organization
- 25%+ travel and/or customer face time
Responsibilities
- Developing a robust pipeline of new business / customers within the assigned territory
- Applying a consultative sales approach to new and existing customers
- Identify, reach and influence key utility decision makers, stakeholders and industry influencers within targeted accounts and territory
- Work closely with senior executives to develop sales strategies and tactics to close business and build reference accounts
- Collaborate with other members of the sales, delivery, marketing and product teams to exceed customer expectations and develop multi-year relationships
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the utility industry is a distinct plus
