VAT Manager

Summary

The job is for a VAT Manager on a FTC basis for 6 months, working remotely in London, UK. The role involves contributing to the Global Tax Compliance process, improving processes, performing administrative tasks, and working on ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant or tax advisor with 5+ years of experience.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant and/or preferably Tax advisor (ACA/ACCA/CTA)
• 5+ years of post qualified experience ideally
• Experience in indirect taxes on a UK and international perspective
• Highly computer literate - Advanced Excel skills; comfortable dealing with complex formulae
• Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines (essential)
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally
• High attention to detail
• A can-do attitude
• Driven and capable of driving process change and improvement

Responsibilities

• Improvement of process and control for the UK and Global VAT compliance and return process
• Health check on current VAT process (UK & EMEA)
• Initiate VAT health check globally
• Improve data gathering (UK and EMEA)
• Efficient interaction with local advisors (UK and EMEA)
• Update current return preparation processes (UK and EMEA)
• Provide updated guidance on VAT regulations
• Assist in the preparation and review of VAT returns (UK and EMEA)
• Manage and minimise the risk of VAT issues
• Ad-hoc project work as required
