Vice President, Controller

Summary

The Corporate Controller is responsible for enhancing financial controls, processes, and overseeing compliance with policies and procedures in Mural's Accounting team. They will guide financial decisions, mentor the accounting team, coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits, and ensure consistent compliance of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting standards. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in accounting, including a mix of public accounting and Corporate Controller role at a fast-paced SaaS company, advanced knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting expertise, proven international experience, and an active CPA license along with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in accounting, consisting of a mix of public accounting and Corporate Controller role at a fast-paced, SaaS company
• Proven experience developing and leading a high-performing accounting and control organization
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting expertise
• Proven international experience working with global currencies in overseas financial operations
• Active CPA license along with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting, revenue recognition, account payables, payroll, stock admin, tax, reporting, as well as financial controls
• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
• Partner closely with the rest of the Finance & Legal team in identifying and mitigating risk and opportunities throughout the financial planning and close processes
• Mentor and cultivate the accounting team with an emphasis on learning and improved efficiency
• Oversee and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors
