Summary

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in business development in the health plan, payer, or managed care space
  • Successful track record of meeting growth targets
  • Strong understanding of health insurance models (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Exchange)
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, mission-driven environment
  • Proactive, organized, and metrics-driven, with strong CRM hygiene (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, understands there are no hard-and-fast rules but will do what is needed to support the success of the business

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of prospective health plan clients and develop strong, consultative relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., C-suite, senior management, clinical, product management, innovation teams)
  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle - from initial discovery to contract signature - for regional and national health plan opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by helping them leverage products and services to drive better clinical outcomes, member experience, and total cost-of-care savings
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Product, Implementation, Clinical, Compliance) to ensure successful onboarding, integration, and ongoing client satisfaction
  • Stay up to date on healthcare policy, payer trends, and competitor activity to provide strategic insights and feedback internally
  • Support contract negotiations, RFP responses, and ensure regulatory alignment (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, ACA Exchange plans)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with digital health, population health, or value-based care solutions
  • Familiarity with provider networks, member engagement programs, or care navigation platforms
  • History of selling products to health plans that are utilized in both fully-insured and ASO populations
  • Deep relationships with key regional health plans
  • Deep relationships with national health plans
