Join Rewiring America as their Vice President of Investment, a newly created role responsible for designing and executing the organization's revenue plan. This leadership position will involve building and managing a growing fundraising team, cultivating major donor relationships, and securing significant investments to support the organization's ambitious growth goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nonprofit development, a proven track record of securing seven- to eight-figure investments, and exceptional leadership and communication skills. Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing transformational, seven to eight-figure investments from individuals, family offices, and institutions
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute high-impact fundraising strategies that drive significant revenue growth and long-term financial sustainability
- Experience leading and scaling innovative donor engagement, stewardship, and cultivation efforts that deepen relationships and maximize impact
- Exceptional team leadership and management skills, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing, diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development
- Experience managing teams of at least 5-7 staff preferred
- Executive-level relationship-building expertise, adept at engaging and influencing a broad range of stakeholders, from grassroots supporters to high-net-worth donors and institutional partners
- Outstanding strategic communication skills, with the ability to: Craft and deliver compelling narratives that drive donor engagement and investment
- Translate complex policy, financial, and impact data into persuasive, accessible messaging
- Serve as a thought leader and spokesperson for Rewiring America’s mission and priorities

Responsibilities
- Serve as chief fundraising strategist, leading a team to deliver against ambitious annual revenue targets
- Work alongside the Senior Director of Investment to build, lead, and scale a high-performing fundraising team
- Serve as the chief fundraising partner to the CEO, advising on high-level donor engagement, institutional partnerships, and long-term financial sustainability
- Own and expand a portfolio of transformational donors, including major and leadership donors, family offices, corporate and foundation partners—building and stewarding relationships to drive significant investments
- Leverage established relationships across philanthropic, corporate, and public-sector funders to sustain and expand core revenue sources
- Develop new funding pathways and strategic partnerships with peripheral funders—such as technology, healthcare, affordable housing, and infrastructure—whose industries are affected by climate and electrification
- Serve as a member of the senior leadership team of Rewiring America, with responsibilities for the overall growth, effectiveness, and impact of the organization
- Drive a high-performance and results driven team and culture
- Work with the Senior Director of Investment to enhance and optimize fundraising infrastructure, ensuring the investment team has the necessary systems, processes, and analytics to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
- Recruit, mentor, and manage investment staff, alongside the Senior Director of Investment, setting clear objectives, providing ongoing feedback, and fostering professional growth
- Develop and leverage data-driven insights, creating dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track progress against revenue goals, assess performance, and refine strategy
- Lead the creation of compelling fundraising materials, including pitch decks, prospect research, and donor engagement strategies, to elevate Rewiring America’s funding efforts
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of the climate funding landscape, with established relationships across philanthropic, corporate, and public-sector funders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience scaling fundraising operations in high-growth or start-up environments
- Experience successfully leading and expanding a nonprofit development operation beyond climate philanthropy into new and diverse funding sectors
- Subject matter expertise in demand-side electrification, renewable energy, or adjacent climate solutions
