Join CIM Group as an experienced fundraising professional to spearhead the growth of the firm’s financial institutions business in North America, focusing on the insurance channel. You will be a key member of the insurance team, developing and implementing an asset gathering and relationship management plan. This role offers significant career growth opportunities and involves working closely with the Head of Insurance. Responsibilities include promoting CIM's investment products, obtaining new insurance relationships, providing client service, and contributing to CIM's profile in the insurance community. Significant travel is expected. The ideal candidate possesses extensive institutional fundraising experience, particularly within the insurance sector, and a strong understanding of the insurance market and regulations.
Requirements
- Ideally a minimum of 7+ years of institutional fundraising experience, with 3 to 5+ years’ experience in insurance
- Bring a solid understanding of the insurance market, including knowledge in risk-based capital, ALM and asset allocation decisions
- Have experience influencing investment decision makers within the insurance channel, and preferably will have experience representing private market strategies
- A successful track record of raising capital and building deep and lasting relationships with key decision makers in the insurance space
- A strong understanding of risk-based capital standards and how NAIC regulations impact insurers’ needs for certain products and structures
- Insight into relevant industry trends and the regulatory landscape, credibility with the insurance audience, and the relationships required to increase penetration in this channel
- Be an Entrepreneurial self-starter with the willingness to roll up their sleeves in a growth-oriented firm
- Have an undergraduate degree from a leading educational institution
Responsibilities
- Serve as an integral member of the North America Institutional Distribution Group working closely with Head of Insurance to spearhead the firm’s strategy around messaging, investor engagement, and capital raising within the insurance space
- Responsible for promoting the firm’s full suite of real estate, infrastructure, and credit investment products and capabilities to the FIG channel in North America
- Obtain new insurance general account relationships by leveraging current network and developing new relationships in addition to leveraging firm-wide relationships with insurers
- Key contributor to bringing complex and innovative solutions to insurance clients and prospects
- Anticipate risks to the firm’s investor base and ensure that marketing strategies are aligned with an evolving competitive landscape
- Contribute to raising the overall profile of CIM in the insurance community by communicating clearly and confidently to the marketplace
- Provide exceptional client service to existing client base
- Travel significantly
