Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles within large health systems, such as Chief Information Officer (CIO), Deputy CIO, or senior IT executive
- 5+ years of healthcare IT consulting experience in a client-facing role, advising hospitals, health systems, or other healthcare providers
- Extensive experience managing responsibilities for consulting engagements, from scope definition to final delivery
- Expertise in IT governance, organizational strategy, and decision-making frameworks within healthcare environments
- Proven experience serving as an interim CIO or senior IT leader, stabilizing and guiding healthcare organizations through periods of leadership change
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-level executives (CIOs, COOs, VPs) in healthcare organizations
- Ability to assess complex healthcare IT environments, identify gaps, and recommend clear, practical solutions
- Experience leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives in health systems
- Skilled in building trust, credibility, and long-term relationships with healthcare clients
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Confident, articulate, and polished in high-pressure client interactions
- Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with other advisors, consultants, and client stakeholders
- Passion for learning, growth, and delivering value to clients
Responsibilities
- Manage responsibilities for management consulting engagements, including project planning, execution, and successful client delivery
- Lead consulting engagements in a variety of areas, such as: IT Assessments
- Provide CIO coaching and leadership development
- Create and mentor on Governance
- Develop IT Strategic Planning and Roadmaps
- Conduct System Selections and Vendor Evaluations
- Perform Enterprise Imaging Assessments
- Develop Population Health Technology-Enabled Strategies
- Manage IT Financial Management and Cost Optimization
- Negotiate Contracts and Manage Vendors
- Rationalize Applications and Vendors
- Develop technology assessments and plans
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on enterprise IT strategy, governance models, and operational improvements
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with client executives (CIOs, COOs, and IT leaders), positioning Healthlink Advisors as a strategic partner
- Ensure engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed client expectations
- Contribute to the development of best-practice tools, templates, and methodologies for firm-wide use
- Support the firmโs perspective creation by writing perspectives, industry reports, and case studies
- Represent Healthlink Advisors at industry forums, panels, and conferences, sharing expertise and elevating the firmโs profile
- Collaborate with the broader advisory team to refine best practices and enhance client delivery
- Mentor junior consultants and team members, providing career development support, technical guidance, and engagement oversight
- Serve as an interim CIO or senior IT leader for client organizations, offering continuity and stability during leadership transitions
- Provide CIO coaching and mentorship to support IT leaders as they navigate challenges and seize new opportunities
- Design, implement, and mentor clients on effective IT governance frameworks that align technology investments with business goals
- Lead change management initiatives for health systems undergoing technology transformations, mergers, or significant operational shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterโs degree
- Certification in healthcare IT frameworks such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST) and industry standards in healthcare IT
