Summary
Join Equivity as a virtual paralegal supporting attorneys in estate planning, probate, and elder law. This remote position involves drafting legal documents, preparing and filing probate documents, assisting with elder law matters, managing case files, and supporting client intake and court filings. You will maintain professional communication with clients during standard business hours. The ideal candidate has at least three years of relevant paralegal experience, familiarity with legal software, and strong organizational skills. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent paralegal experience in estate planning and/or probate law
- Bachelorโs degree
- Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM โ 6 PM
- Ability to work 20โ40 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Responsibilities
- Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Prepare and file probate documents, such as petitions, asset inventories, creditor notices, and accountings
- Provide support in elder law matters, including long-term care planning and communication with beneficiaries and financial institutions
- Maintain and manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and correspondence using cloud-based legal software
- Assist with client intake, court filings, and coordination with court personnel and financial professionals
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM โ 6 PM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Elder law experience is preferred and valued
- Experience with conservatorships, guardianships, or Medicaid planning is a plus
- Familiarity with case management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar
- Familiarity with legal drafting software like WealthCounsel and HotDocs is strongly preferred
- Skilled in managing probate administration and preparing comprehensive estate planning packages
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment
- Equipped with a Windows-based laptop, smartphone, and broadband internet connection
