Summary

This part-time remote job involves assisting in planning and executing the transition from Nortel to Cisco voice infrastructure, configuring and deploying Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco voice components, optimizing voice network performance, and providing documentation and training. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience, is preferred, along with 3+ years of experience in voice engineering and telecommunications, expertise in Nortel and Cisco voice systems, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in voice engineering and telecommunications
• Expertise in Nortel and Cisco voice systems
• Strong understanding of VoIP protocols and technologies, including SIP, RTP, and H.323
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Voice Gateways
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing the transition from Nortel to Cisco voice infrastructure
• Evaluate existing Nortel voice systems and develop migration strategies to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) platform
• Configure and deploy Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and other Cisco voice components to support VoIP services
• Optimize voice network performance and quality of service (QoS) parameters to ensure optimal voice call quality and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues and outages in a timely manner
• Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for voice system administration and operation
• Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on the use and management of Cisco voice systems
