Summary

Finite State is seeking a Vice President of Engineering with expertise in cybersecurity and experience building scalable enterprise SaaS products. The ideal candidate will lead the engineering team, manage and mentor engineers, foster a high-performance engineering culture, collaborate with other teams, drive innovation, and ensure high-quality outputs. They must have 10+ years of engineering experience, at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, strong background in cybersecurity, and proven track record of delivering high-quality software products.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a tech company
• Strong background in cybersecurity, specifically in building secure enterprise-level SaaS applications
• Expertise in designing and managing large datasets and sophisticated data processing pipelines
• Demonstrated experience managing both onshore and offshore engineering teams
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products with velocity

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team through the architecture, development, deployment, and operations of secure and scalable enterprise SaaS solutions
• Manage, mentor, and scale a diverse and talented engineering team across multiple geographical locations
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture that values hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Promote a psychologically safe workplace that supports professional development and growth
• Collaborate closely with product management, sales, and customer support teams to align engineering outputs with company goals, customer needs, and expectations
• Drive innovation and stay ahead of the industry trends to keep the company at the cutting edge of technology
• Ensure the work product of the engineering team is high-quality, delivered on time, and within budget
• Lead the prioritization of engineering tasks to maximize customer value and orchestration of feature delivery
• Own and execute the engineering hiring process, ensuring a strong and capable team is in place to deliver high-quality work

Preferred Qualifications

• Application security or product security experience
• Experience with vulnerability management, SBOM management, or binary/program analysis
• Experience with Generative AI and LLMs, especially with respect to applying them to application security and vulnerability management problems
• Experience in Finite State’s tech stack, which includes: AWS, Kubernetes, ArangoDB (or other multimodal / graph databases), Python, React, Typescript, Javascript, GraphQL
